Mike and Mary have quilted as a team for many years. Mary enjoys piecing blocks and tops, while Mike does long arm quilting. Mary teaches a few classes every year through local quilt guilds.

Their love of quilting and the appreciation of the 10 principles, spawned the idea to create a Quilting oriented theme camp in Black Rock City.

Black Rock Desert Quilters theme camp is where BRC citizens may come and view beautiful quilts, learn about quilting, make a project to take home or create a block (or two) to include in the “Desert Stream” art installation.

We will have both traditional and modern style quilts on display in our covered public space as well as sewing machines and experienced volunteers to help folks learn the basics of quilting.
